The German shepherd won Best in Show at the 141st Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden, one year after falling short to CJ, a German shorthaired pointer, in the same competition.

I've always loved this breed, and often wished I had the room to foster/rescue large breed dogs; I'd be handling Boxers & German Shepard's. But this was fantastic IMO
Gah. German shepherds are such pretty dogs, but that sloped back is awful. The poor dog looks like it can't stand properly.
Noooo, the spine is in alignment it's how the long ankle bone allows the breed to hunker down - they are able to jump much higher {spring board}: full force body blow a perp from that position when taking down a criminal/enemy, rather like the difference between a quarter horse {shorter gaited} and a thoroughbred horse {longer gaited}.
German Shepard's get a much more rapid acceleration from that specific breed stance then a gray hound and their long legs ...a gray hound/wolf hounds can out distance {long range} but the German Shepard in short distances - the German Shepard would get there much quicker.
