'with sausages'

It's mainly sausages isn't it? :again?:

Its was more like a one pot big pile of (surprisingly quite tasty) stuff with a couple of skinny ones on the side.

I'm just glad I had it before Keysers pic on the random thread.

Yes - and I regret that as I am having sausages and bacon later!

Haggis, Neeps and Tatties.

Talking of Haggis, do you know what rips ma knitting?

Folk that say they hate Haggis, then admit they've never tasted it.

I guess it's the idea of sheep's heart, liver and lungs wrapped in sheep stomach that puts people off before they even try...TBH, I have never tried Haggis, but I would be more than willing try. FGS, I love snails in garlic butter, raw oysters, sushi with raw fish, caviar ( raw fish eggs ) etc...so why wouldn't I eat cooked Haggis? The Scotts have eaten it for centuries and obviously love it, so it can't be bad.

Give it a try Holly, i was put off for years because of knowing the ingredients, but when in a position to try it i found it really delicious - unless i had a particularly good one!

It sounds like shit but I have tried and enjoyed it. It was a bit dry and very peppery.

I love haggis butties

always a butty never a sandwich

red hot haggis on the softest of white bread with cold butter (has to be butter) so the haggis melts the butter

it's such a treat and the most comforting of comfort food

When I was still working, a colleague brought in haggis, oatcakes and cheese for Burns Night.
I've never had a problem with offal so tried the haggis and loved it.
Whilst ploughing in, others came into the staffroom and gave it the 'Eugh! How can you?' routine.
Yep, they'd never tried it. Doylums.

Chicken and chips, jelly, stawberries and cream for tea today.
Nowt exciting, just tasty.

Fraid I was boring and had spaghetti bolognaise. I'm late to the party 're the haggis, but you've brought back a lovely memory of being in Scotland as a small child and my dad giving me haggis with my fried breakfast.

In Belfast here our fries have potato bread soda bread etc along with them, but I remember in Scotland oving a square sausage!

and you've put me in the notion for a nice bit of haggis now !

Hoe do you cook the mince?

I don't bother with veg oil at all as there is enough natural fat for the mince to fry itself (when I am doing a chilli or spag bol). :smilin:
