Arsenal will get an unexpected bonus from Barcelona winning the Champions League final last night - an extra £3million from the Spaniards from their sale of Thomas Vermaelen last summer.

Arsenal inserted clause in the deal which related to Champions League performances - by winning, Barcelona have to pay to full £3million - which is nice particularly as Vermaelen has only played one game for Barcelona since signing for them, due to tearing a hamstring during the World Cup.

Of course the biggest news in the footballing world this morning is...that Barcelona won the Champions League Final last night...thanks to goals by Rakitic, Suarez and Neymar.

Which mean the Spanish giants have now won the Champions League five times in the last ten years.

They've also won several Spanish Cups and several League titles in that time and became the 8th team to win...what is regarded as the most important treble in football.
