Did I tell you? ....... there's a changing of the guard in North London ...... ooops! ...... no that wasn't me who said that, someone told me. :gigglesnshit:

Arsenal had a decent run out this afternoon, could have played better after a scintillating first 15 minutes they went off the boil. In the second half we just wore Villa down and Olivier Giroud scored a hat-trick and Alexis Sanchez unselfishly, laid a goal on for Mikel Arteta who had come on for the last 10 minutes as a goodbye for the club captain. He shot but hit the underside of the crossbar, bounced off the Villa goalkeeper and into the net to make the final result 4-0.

Unfortunately for Arteta and a fairytale ending to his Arsenal career, the mean bastards on the dubious goals panel, made it an own goal.

So we finish as runners up, ten points and 11 penalties behind Leicester ............ I'm thinking that one day Spurs will end up above us, but not in my lifetime ..... this was it, they won't get a better chance.

Don't get too big headed, you finished 2nd.

You don't get a trophy or any medals for that.

As it's the last day of the season and we all start off with a clean sheet in August, I'll just finish by rubbing Spurs noses right in it, starting with ..... What a FUCKING HUMILIATION! ...... getting 5 goals whacked past you by a team already relegated. :shake head:

The mercurial 'best manager' in the league came on after the game and apologised to the Spurs fans for their abysmal showing - I mean all they needed to do was not lose and Arsenal couldn't do a thing about it - not only couldn't they do that, they got an absolutely humiliating hiding from a relegated team.

I don't expect a lot of traffic on here from Sunny or Robocop .... in fact we might never hear from them again, Robo has probably blown his brains out with that big gun of his and Sunny will probably be on her second flagon of intravenously delivered wine, lying prostrate on the floor.

Anyways, chins up it must have been nice at least dreaming you could finish above us. :more beer:

Leicester City 81 points
Arsenal 71 points
Spurs 70 points
Man City 66 points

And after all that huge gap in goal difference, Arsenal ended just 5 goals behind - clawing a massive 8 goals back in just one day ...... like I've always said it ain't over 'til it's over.

It's got nothing to do with finishing second - though it once again scotched that old myth of '4th place Arsenal' - but everything to do with watching Spurs fans crowing and gloating about finishing above us this season, not mention the entire pundit and sports reporters army who had already got Spurs down as runners up.

Five One ..... you just couldn't make it up.

Pochettino's face was a picture after the game - he looked like he'd seen 11 ghosts all at once ..... he had really I suppose.

I had a quick peep to see if he'd been arrogant enough to start with a mainly second string squad, he hadn't, it was their strongest 11 barring the violent offenders who have been banned.

Apparently Newcastle mullered them. :shake head:

You told me Arsenal, hadn't finished in 4th place for years!!

Anyway, i understand the gloating.

I was pissed off at the way everyone had Celtic in the Scottish Cup Final, before they'd even played us.

No I proved we had only finished 4th 6 times in Wenger's 20 years ...... but people keep calling us 'perennial fourth placers' like it's where we finish every season. :shake head:

Hi Suns! :wubbers:

Tigers won 3-0 the other day - we might just get back in the Premiership after all.

I love all the bickering on this thread - it cheers me up!

Hiya keyser, good luck with the tigers.

Was just watching match of the day and Shearer was spot on when he said about the gooners....' I repeat what I said last year and the year before that, they have got ability but they lack heart and the lack of tough mentality, they are experts at winning matches when the pressure is off and the title is gone!'
Well said Shearer!

Have a good night Keyser. :Hiya:

I see.

What next for Arsenal?

There needs to be a lot of changes at the Emirates during the summer, several players need to leave and new players need to be brought in.

It's already been confirmed Mikel Arteta and Tomas Rosicky are leaving.

Ollie Giroud got a hat-trick yesterday, but that doesn't happen often and Alexis Sanchez has been out of sorts all season.

A striker would be my priority and then perhaps a defender.

Mikel Arteta has been linked with a move back to Rangers, but he's decided to hang up his boots.

He was in tears yesterday at the end of Arsenal's game, maybe he'll become a coach now

Arsene Wenger says Mikel, will be a huge loss for Arsenal.

All the best to him, he's a nice guy.
