A magnificent RISE of 7% in on-line sales.

Only a 4% drop in shop sales.

But wait.........

A 7% rise in online sales of £10bn = £700 million extra sales !!

Oh... but a 4% drop on £100bn = £4 billion lost sales :dunno:

Another Brexit / Tory success story :twirl:

"Major non-food retailers have already indicated that they are feeling the strain. Over the three months to December last year, sales of non-food items fell 3.7% - marking their steepest drop in five years, the BRC's figures showed."

"While retailers such as M&S, Next and Debenhams are still enjoying rising online sales – last year Debenhamns’ internet sales grew by 9pc to account for 15pc of total revenues - it has come at a huge cost and is eating away at their profit margins."

"High street footfall continued to disappoint over the holiday season, falling 7pc on Boxing day and 6pc in the two days before Christmas, with shopping malls the worst affected, according to HSBC."

He couldn't deal with raw data if it smacked him in the mouth.

Let's face it, he can't even deal with actual facts - the idea that he could distill reality from raw data is laughable.

And you can quote ME as the link on that..

Amazing - he can read !!

We all knew that already. Sadly the rise in online sales gets nowhere near the losses in trade in the High Street.

It actually looks even worse when you realise that there was a decent rise in food sales (tho most of that was due to Brexit induced food inflation).

The rest are suffering badly - especially the smaller shops with little or no online presence.
