The case itself is heartbreaking, but that thread is in a timezone all of its own :shoot:

Mostly sensible posters and then the odd funny wonder logging in and posting shite.

Its uncannily like the McCann thread, only missing Penny :awesome:

Yeah I just want to add my stance on it all (because I didn't do that with the McCann shit and I have definitely learnt from that mistake! )
I feel dreadful for the parents. Really, really dreadful. I have always felt that those in the wrong here are the enablers, those giving them hope when none is to be found. They need support, not blind allegiance. Sometimes support comes in the form of preparing you and persuading you to face something unthinkable. I think Connie especially needs someone guiding her, not people to cheer as she spends more time away from her son fighting a pointless battle.

And this battle is pointless. I can barely get my head around why you'd even consider transferring someone on life support like Charlie. My brother was transferred between hospitals (from a generic A&E to a specialised hospital for treatment) whilst on life support, and it took HOURS. There were so many risks, and he had to be stabilised again once reaching the specialist hospital.
When we decided to turn him off, moving him again didn't even cross our minds. We were saying goodbye, we didn't want to add any more stress to that.

I can't help but feel that this is Connies last desperate attempt to avoid facing up the inevitable, not so much to get him home, but to avoid the reality of his death.

I know. She makes good points sometimes but the "bitch from hell" attitude is tiresome.Did I detect a dig at Vam too, about long term posters testing the water to see if they can criticise the parents? I'm guessing that was in response to Vam's post yesterday.

Regarding Benji, I did kinda try to insinuate that she was being hypocritical but I don't think she will pick it up!

Flashfiction, brilliant poster - very sensible and measured - and it was so funny that he has spotted the lady clicking on all the laughing dude buttons............now that is one sad case, sitting there clicking away morning till night to try and annoy people - it just brings a smile to my face knowing who it is and having a little chuckle at her. :twirl:

How does someone spot a person clicking on laugh buttons? :ooer:

Bollywood is insane and has been deliberately baiting for days.

Flash suggested Susie Smith, and I think hes right. So obvious when he pointed it out.

Wonder who is hitting the laughing smiley for Susie and anyone else who is disagreeing with tha main, they seem to be getting an awful lot of them.

Im sorry to hear about your brother, it must have been such a difficult and emotional time for you xxxx

yes its not as uncomplicated as it sounds.

My husband and I did have a bit of a rant last night after watching the news - I do feel that asking to take him home for "a week" and then talking about claiming back the money from the NHS was a bit ott - however you are right, they are being badly advised, my own mum would have stepped in by now if it was me - its Charlie and not the end of their story that should be the priority, but you know it must be so horrendous for them, especially when the doctor gave them some hope at one point, only to be dashed.

My feelings of anger are towards those who gave the false hope. Never to the parents. Someone gave them hope and they clung to it like anyone would have. We have no idea what was said to the parents by the American Dr or the father of the other child.
I do understand why they want him to die at home, my one fear with my sister was that she would die where she felt she had been let down. I'm not saying GOSH let Charlie down but the relationship between GOSH and the parents has broken down. They don't trust them.

I'm beginning to think Susie_Smith has never been inside a hospital - if she did she would have noticed pretty much all of the doors between wards and departments are not "standard sized doors" but double doors in order to get beds with equipment through them.

No matter how we view this, and we are all slightly different, I do think everyone really feels for the family and Charlie - its such a shame that such huge and emotional family business is being done in a media circus.

Its such a legal snarlup now that I really don't know whose "fault" it was in the first place, my feeling is the doctor who led them down the garden path - they had in their heads that he was going to help and everything that stood in the way was being put there deliberately - the relationship has definitely broken down, and it looks from the last minutes from the court that it will be the hospice, which seems to be the best option all round, for everyone. The parents will be away from GOSH, and the hospital wont have the protesters there when there are families of other equally ill children.

I think her posts are good ones, she cuts through the crap of that thread. It's almost gang-like on there. Some of the posts are awful and read like people cannot wait for the parents to get their comeuppances. How dare they ask for anything the selfish fuckers. So many making themselves angry at what those who have nothing to do with it say on FB and twitter.
They are a family, they are a unit, my sympathy is with them all as a family.

They seem ok to me. I like most posters though, I might disagree in one thread but agree in another.
