Feminism was never about equality, it was about getting even, even though most men alive today have never oppressed women, including me, but still have to suffer the consequences. It's like blaming young Germans for what happened during WW2.

Let me guess...jra?

Correct.

And he feels he has to take on the blame for all sorts of things including the slave trade. It's as if he wants to embrace victimhood.

It’s badly put but largely I understand the point.
Feminism is not about equality no matter how hard some of the more extremes posters in DS try to convince you and them that it is.

How many feminists fight just as hard for rights for men? None of them. That tells you it’s not equal and it’s definitely not about equality. Maybe it used to be but those days are long long gone.

You only need to look online to see that Many women have turned from feminism as they’ve realised what is now has become, so the DS narrative that it’s only an couple of sad MRAs that think this is wide of the mark.

So JRA you believe you, as well as all other men, are being blamed for oppresding women? How does that make you feel?

JRA: That I'm still getting blamed for things I haven't done.

DS POSTER: Like what?

JRA: For being blamed for what men have done to women (oppression) in the past, though I had nothing to do with it. I've already said this once above.

Someone asked which feminists were feminazis. The feminist thread active right now contains most of them. They make arguments that could equally apply to themselves and their views.

Scottie is so lacking in self awareness. This sentence could not actually describe himself any better-

‘Some people do love to apply a very broad label to extreme or downright daft opinions in order to smear the very broad group rather than focus on the individual's opinion.’

It’s the exact thing he does himself.

So just like feminists then? They are the classic case of permanent victim hood. Look in the news and on forums and it’s almost like a victimhood top trumps.

I'm going with delusional.

Third wave feminists have given feminism a bad name.

Giving feminism a bad name isn't helping feminism though, is it.

People like Anita Sarkeesian do their cause more harm than good.

I don't know about her but I can understand the need to be more bolshy as a feminist.

And sod the sexist farts who think they can preach about fairness when they are anything but fair.
( that's not directed at you, I don't think)

Nothing wrong with bolshy. But that particular individual embodies the 'feminazi' trope (not a word I use) quite spectacularly.

She's a complete non-entity and the reaction she got was the only reason she became well known.

Oh this woman talked about characters in video games, let's threaten to rape and kill her, photoshop her onto pornographic images and make a game where the sole purpose is to beat her up.

Yeah, she's definitely the one to be worried about and totally the villain in all this...

They are clueless though. Their articles are terrible, and they way they run their forums is just as bad. I post on a few different boards and they all have their quirks, and occasionally silly rules which find you getting your knuckles rapped for certain posts, but at least the moderators are obviously people who will engage with you and be reasonable. Even if you are lucky enough to get a reply from a DS moderator, it will be just be the stock post telling you unceremoniously to do one.

I've given up with the place, and haven't been on there at all this year. I think it will fail eventually, and good riddance to it when it does.
