True, and 2 absolutely has right of way. But with lefthand drive cars (which these are), you should always give way to oncoming traffic to your left.
At least, that's the general rule where I live!

to turn number 3 has to cross the path of no1 - go past then turn, whereas number 1 turns when they are in line with number 3, so following the exact rules of the road, number 1 has the edge
in reality of course they'd all either push through, or all sit there forever

That's a sign that tells no1 to give way, plus no3 is on the main road. You are correct.

Of course. They are al on the wrong side of the road! And every single morning pulling out of my street I wish to god 1 had priority over 3 and some fuck would just let me out.

2 has overall right of way. If I was driving 3, I'd definitely flash my lights to let 1 turn left first.
