Is bread really really expensive where you are?

I don't know.

Why do you ask? :ooer:

Surely the cost of freezing it outweighs, or at least come close, to the price of it - not to mention the palaver.

Not at all. Freezers run much more efficiently and economically when they are well-filled. I try to keep both freezers well stocked and I have a bread drawer in one of them.

I don't see the point in wasting bread by allowing it to get stale, so we just use what we need. From what I gather, we actually waste relatively little food in this household, compared to others. :ooer:

It could just as easily be the fish finger drawer - or the frozen peas drawer... if that was more in line with your individual requirements. :woteva:

I'm getting bored with bread now though. :NAA:

We each have a 90kg luggage allowance for our trip... so I reckon that needs a lot of careful thought and planning. :leer:

Ah I see. I live in (well near) a market town - small shops; butcher, baker, candlestickmaker - shopping is a delight.

I'd go for a hard bake, something like a big biscuit.

No "might" about it.

I haven't had fish fingers in years. Oh well, maybe we'll eventually have some grandchildren one day and can become reacquainted with fish fingers then. :gigglesnshit:
