I was sooooo excited for The Kooks new album, but Eminem did a surprise album drop. And it’s a glorious day and I am kid free so I’m spending the day in the garden with my headphones.

It’s the final day of summer officially. But it’s been cold and about to get warmer over the weekend. It always turns nice when the kids go back to school.

Bit of a generalisation there LM. Your kids would have loved 1976. Possibly.

I generally embrace UK weather rather than fight it. The problem isn't the weather, it's what your are wearing, as in be prepared.

I consider myself lucky we don't too many weather/climate extremes, like many other parts of the world.

I go by the old dates, i.e. 20/21/22 Sept instead of the dumbed down dates used nowadays. Besides, it's all academic and it won't change the weather, hence things like Indian Summers (who was also a very famous person *)

According to The Mirror we are due for one this year, but personally knowing UK weather I wouldn't hedge my bets on that. But, it would be nice for a Thames river boat trip in September for example.

When people ask me about boats, I say what do you want to know?

Boat trips on large boats are fine and dandy on occasions, but I owned my 3 small boats (yes plural) and with my dad spent overnights in Salcombe estuary, river Dart, river Avon, river Erme, river Yealm, river Tamar, St German's river etc. On one occasion my dad (I wasn't with him at the time) fell overboard in the Hamoaze (Plymouth) and only managed to get aboard the yacht because he had fitted a rope ladder just a day before.

You can't help thinking that somebody (but in my case not a god) is looking after you if you deserve it.

I've had a fair few near death experiences, but it all turned out OK in the end, so far.
