I've just had a lovely cup of tea and a piece of Tottenham cake.

I went to a Thai restaurant last week and for the first time ever I was disappointed, but the staff were lovely so the evening was still a success

Food no good?

I can't recall ever having a bad Thai meal.

Dry, bland and pretty tasteless tbh. Never had that happen before

Whoa, that is unusual.

There's a pub I go to near work which serves Thai food at less than a fiver and even somewhere relatively "low rent" like that manages to knock out lovely food so definitely a freak occurrence!

I totally agree with that because I have had pubs serving Thai food and it has been very much on a par with restaurants in as much as it is authentic in taste etc.
The place that was a major let down has been there since 1983 and had a great rep, which in turn causes a lot of people to go there.
After my recent visit I think their success is down to repartee rather than food quality

I think I'll be having burger and fries egg and beans and a bottle of ketchup washed down by a bottle of wine that's good with beans.

That sounds very farmhouse.

We let the kids decide on what we are having for a takeaway tonight. They’ve decided to stay in and we are all going to play cards (probably cheat) we hardly ever get takeaways - they picked Indian too. I like Indian food but prefer homemade, I always end up in agony after a takeaway, too greasy I think. I’ve never been to an Indian restaurant.

I hope you enjoy yourself

Just had a hoisin duck tortilla wrap bought from the supermarket.

Quite poor. I've decided I don't like the texture of shredded duck at all. It did not help that it was drenched in sickly sweet hoisin sauce. Eww. It ain't cheap either.

Will stick to good old fashioned home cooked oven roasted duck in future.
