I've not eaten since Monday evening, but I kept dry toast down this morning so I'm hopeful

Not dead yet then?

Flu is there to remind you that one day you will probably die slowly, over weeks, An awful but sober reminder :shake head:

Well it can't be from food poisoning. That doesn't happen under EU rules. Though you can expect it a lot after Brexit

No idea what to cook.
I do have a punnet of luscious king prawns. That's always a good starting point.
Might make a meal out of it tonight.

Well I'm not making pastry again. You should see the amount of butter it took to make just 2 pies. 125g. A block of butter is 200g. It tasted nice but a recipe for a heart attack! Just the filling from now on.

I always buy it in ready made, it's usually in the chiller cabinet near the milk in the shop.

Making pie pastry is a waste of life.

It was simple to make. So I thought why are all these people buying something that is so simple to make? When reading the ingredients you don't realise it is only just going to make 2 pies. It's a helluva lot of butter. Ok for small things like mince pies or jam tarts I suppose but it has put me right off. In the future I'll make the filling and just add some mash and veg or chips.

Yeah but it's a PITA when you can get enough for two big family sized pies (or four smaller ones) for less than three quid with no arsing around. Don't get me wrong, I like getting elbow deep in a crumble...

Ok. I might give it a go but I don't really see the point if you can just have the filling and that's the best bit. If my pastry only made 2 pies with that much butter. What are they putting in theirs? It was nice pastry. I had a jam tart this afternoon from the packet and the pastry tasted awful compared to my heart attack one!

Pot noodles, eggs, bacon, rolls and mushrooms. Baked beans with little sausages if you're so inclined :leer:
