Eight new planets capable to hold life found in Goldilocks zone
Image
Scientists have discovered eight new planets that might be capable to hold ‘alien life’ in the “Goldilocks zone” of orbit.

Nasa’s Kepler telescope has found these planets, and by this discovery, the number of such ‘exoplanets’ found by this telescope has crossed 1000.

I also read today that 3 rocky planets have been found around an orange star that was formed billions of years before our sun and the significance of that is that life will have had a lot longer to develop than here on earth.
There could well be advanced Alien life out there, even though not on the 3 planets mentioned as they are too close to their star.

Earth-sized planet hints at ancient solar system life
By Karen Hardison 3 hours ago in Science
The Kepler Mission photometer discoered a Sun-like star system with five Earth-like planets transiting ranging in size between Mercury and Venus and opening news scopes of implications.

This Sun-like star system was formed 11.2 billion years ago making it two and a half times older than Earth, according to the University of Birmingham's report in The Astrophysical Journal.
Two aspects of this striking discovery are themselves striking.
First Striking Aspect: Implications
Participating in NASA's Kepler Mission to explore our Galaxy, one striking aspect is that researcher's from Birmingham's School of Physics and Astronomy conclude, as stated by Tiago Campante, "There are far-reaching implications for this discovery."
It is first implied by this discovery that Earth-sized, Earth-like planets, once thought to be only an elusive possibility at best, have formed throughout the 13.8 billion year existence of the universe

Yes lordy there seems to be a few now they have discovered around goldilocks zones. Surely some kind of form of life must be happening on these planets.

Happening - nearly happening - happened and gone - I don't know which famous scientist it was likely that life in the Universe was the 'rule' rather than the 'exception'

There's an awful lot of stars with an awful lot of planets out there - it's just a numbers game I reckon.

You missed this bit BFF...

.

Solar systems that have been in existence billions of years before us might have life billions of years more advanced--though perhaps not in the one above--but we now know there are solar systems and therefore planets far older.
So 2 + 2 = More advanced life--maybe?
