I asked the try switch the light on when the light didn't go on I was able to calm my self and accept no I wasn't a ghost. door was locked and we couldn't get out. well there doesn't seem to be any door I can't pass through in any dream. (certainly some rooms shouldn't be entered as the lady in red knows well. that's a different dream) seen a big dude like a body builder fighter type the house keeper told me of all the rooms I could have gone in. asked for a pen big dude threw something I caught, don't think it was a pen. the dream did start with Me leaving bags in the front room of what I thought was my Mums house, though I may be mistaken about that since it didn't look like Her Home. I did feel as though I was doing things and couldn't hang about for as long as wanted. carried some chairs which seemed to fall apart in my hands though I thought it was a ladder till the pieces of chair where left. looking around I saw a few chairs stacked a couple of tables. and both of us seated as though ready to discus something before I some how ended up in the room thinking I was a ghost. it was funny thinking I was a ghost though. I was looking for a pen to fill in benefits form yesterday, I want that to be the last time I ever fill in works and pensions form! I really hope it is!

Aren't dreams wonderful? The way they can start one way and then twist and turn into something that had nothing to do with what you were just dreaming. I love those kind of dreams.

I prefer the epics, where I can wake up and continue the dream the following night, it tells more a linear story. late 2017 one particular dream I found quite disturbing, I felt as though I was under constant attack. confined my self in a house when I was visited by a known but unrecognizable figure. I freaked and then attacked them, after I woke up I felt as though I had hurt someone who cares for My well being at such a deep level, which is a regret. strange how even the memory I still find a bit disturbing.

coolest was when I ventured out the atmosphere. when I returned I bounced off the atlantic and ended up in a bus where I saw a friend talk to a Woman He hadn't seen since school. 4 months later I saw the two of them meet in one of My local pubs. I only see him once year during gala day. the two of them related how they last met with gaiety. on coach driving through spain. :kinell: had premonitions since I was young, another Friends divorce, and Her Sisters want for Her boyfriend to make a permanent commitment. they got married about 6 months later after I mentioned the details of the dream to Her. I even met a Friends mother who ventured off to the Heavenly abode waiting for Her husband. His mum never survived beyond His 10th birthday. 6 months later I heard there was to be a funeral for Him. freaky as fuck. but definitly benificial in some ways, I get to be there for Freinds when they need someone to understand. that is the way I manage to deal with it.

Well, I never had a dream that I could continue the next day, but I've had somewhere I woke cause of pain or to use the bathroom and came back and re-entered the dream probably because I was still half asleep. You some pretty freaky dreams. I do have dreams which I just can't get out of my head sometimes, there's some I still recall to this day. I wonder what makes me remember those ones even after decades and not the others?

most of the time they are pleasant. even extraordinary. I do think there is an element of information that is meant to help Us deal with certain problems We face or to even remind Us of Our Life hopes and dreams. I have a few long term memories that I have always had the thought, that is where I believe I am meant to be at some point in life. I do believe at time where I have the feeling of familiarity deja vue, it is related to a dream. at times I can even pinpoint the memory from a dream. at times I am a bit disappointing. but then think about how I feel or am relating to the World or People and it makes a bit of sense. I don't focus to intently any more on the answer, in most instances the information or insight presents it self.

I have experienced deja vu a lot through my life but I don't think they are related to my dreams.

Why is it you can’t get back to a nice dream if you wake up.... a yet a fucking awful one you take up where you left off and can only be rid of it if you get up? :ooer:

the amount of times it has happened since Childhood I can't dispute there is relationship. though I don't find searching for dream interpretations helpful. there is to much ambiguity in translations. and many don't relate to the way I feel.

I used to have pen and paper handy.
Write down dreams.
Write down ideas that came in the shadows.
Result .... I used to write shit loads of poetry.
I was going to be the next Bob Dylan.
It's not happened yet.

I can get back to some of the good ones. When I have bad dreams and I wake up, I close my eyes and change the ending to something good so it doesn't come back.

I used to do that too, kept paper and pen by the bed, but I found out that half the time, I didn't want to wake up enough to get up and write them down, so I told myself I would remember, but of course I didn't.

I dreamt I was running around barefoot in a museum looking for something, but it wasn’t my shoes, something else.
Don’t know what that means. :dunno:

On average you wake up every 7 hours? Good Lord how many hours of sleep do you require a night?

I've been having vivid dreams in the past year. My husband says I say whole sentences, most like I'm at work. (I'm now retired.)

He doesn't wake me unless I seem agitated. I'll wake myself up, having repeated a small monologue.

Has anyone else ever stated talking in their sleep after a life time of quiet?

between 5 and 9, dependant on the number of days I have been awke for

I know I have been awake no less than 3 days if I sleep more than 9 hours.

Had the most frightening sleep paralysis last night. I'd been awake 4 hours longer than normal so was overtired whilst falling to sleep. Soon as I put my head on the pillow I had a big electrical jolt go through my body ( had not been drinking). I thought I was awake but must have been asleep. I felt something sitting on my back, had autitory hallucinations. With what must have been hundreds of voices. I thought I was going mad. Saw flashes of lights around the room and then little dark figures with green eyes by the bed! This went on for ages. Then to top it all off I looked in the doorway and there was a 7 foot black shadow of a man with antennae standing in the door way. I stared at him for what seemed like hours unable to move and he was starring back. I eventually thought of saying the Lord's Prayer in my mind. That didn't work. But I felt a bit better. Then I was able to let out some sound in the form of growling. And that frightened it off. Or woke me up an hour later. This has not happened for ages as I've had a proper sleeping pattern and forgot about the consequences of sleep deprivation! Get your sleep folks!! You don't want to experience that!

The jolt is just a mind/body reboot that prepares you for deep sleep. The rest of your experience is simply a nightmare and not sleep paralysis, night terrors are basic and feel real and are nothing like dreams even though they are actually dreams.

When you manage to get your head around it you can control your dreams and get yourself out the horrors with a bit of practice.

Nice bit of prose though :smilin:
