Your missus has good taste, but you’re just a cultivated snob! :dafinger:

Daffs and yellow tulips do not equal good taste - fortunately they've drooped to death and been thrown out (the tulips, not the missus). :snooty:

I have to agree about tulips though.... if ever a flower could benefit from viagra!

They were from Holland - too much weed to stay erect. :shake head:

I don't like Daffodils either, they look OK for a few days I guess and then, like McAz said, it's just one big mess... I also hate the pungent smell, I could never have them inside in a vase....However, I like seeing them out in the wild or in someone elses garden cos they indicate that spring isn't too far away.

Poca, why don't you like crocuses?...I think they look lovely... I love everything purple and lilac, and to mix it up with yellow is just so appealing to me:wubbers:

I have two early daffs in my garden, and lots of aconites. I also have a small pot with three tiny daffs growing it in. :wubbers:

I went to an auction and gambled on 2 x 56 lbs of poor quality/softish daffodil bulbs.
I got them home and had a closer look, they were not as bad as described by the auctioneer, £4, a bargain really.

I left them at the road entrance to the property to put in when workmen had finished, the next thing I know is the workman had just scattered them around both sides of the gates roadside where they should have gone anyway but I would have placed them neater., I was concerned.

We kept said workman in tea & biskitz for two days, they did some extra work for me as well so I gave them a sparrow.

Anyway, the daffs are coming up fantastic, I am really pleased, just hope they are not blind.

A sparrow?

Sparrow is a gratuity, tip, Star.

The back lanes and single track roads and hedgerows will be bursting with them soon but not yet.
There's the odd clump of snowdrops and nothing more.

The same here Rolly, we have loads of woodland,

We had white bell bulbs given to us years ago which we planted, but moved, not seen any since.

I luv to see the beginning of the seasons arrive.

I am allowed to cut sticks from a crematorium woodland which is abound with bluebells, fantastic sight.

Can't beat dandalions! Though snow drops are cool. Been wanting to introduce them into my garden for over a decade. But generally work from seed. Dafodils I have pleanty with exception of trees an area near 20 square feet. And due to the trees and other plants around they last weeks longer than everyone elses in the street.

After bulb forms I turn the soil. Still can't beat a patch of dandelions. even have them growing in the house with other plants.

Eat a leaf every few days or so, basil flowered (don't know if flowers are edible? Should test them on skin, lip, chew and swallow at two hour intervals. Know with certainty!) Also got olive, read the leaf produces an enzym assist the fight in cancer. Very bitter as is the case with most leaves. Bitter almonds? What bo bitter almonds taste like?

Peter the rabbit ate lettuce leaves and slept. Chinese lettus tastes more like cabbage. As did the letuce in betrix potters time.

Forgot about a small patch of tulips behind all the dafodils. Large leaves and deep red, not easy to see. A splash of contrast in sea of yellow.

Interesting article, more information than readers digest. Foods that Harm Foods that Heal. Got a herb book for my 14 b-day. Upon learning niacin is good for the skin. And visiting a freind on a ground floor tenament in victoria park. The extra light of the dandalions was a welcom respite in a very dark room.

Curious about aiding in urinary track infections. Know of any women who have used it exclusivly for thrush?
