It seems like guest would prefer his family to be killed than defend them with firearms.
He would rather dodge the question.

If I had to live in America for some reason. Would I carry a gun in a place where gun ownership is widespread. Yes I would.

We dont have to live with guns in this Country,

there is no credible evidence that having a gun in the household reduces the risk of being a victim of crime,

evidence shows that persons in a household that have a gun are in fact more likely to be harmed by other family members than those that do not posses a gun

It is logical that by having a gun in the household it is more likely to be used by a Family member in an argument than a deterrent against anyone breaking into a property .
so therefore having a gun is more of a threat to Family members than intruders.

Why are we supposed to only debate what happens in the USA, We are not Americans,( we are British and should debate problems that affect this Country, at least we have a sensible approach to owning gun legislation , something we should be proud of ) I have posted the evidence that anyone owning a gun is putting their family at risk rather than protecting them .

Personally I dont give a "Rats Ar*e" about their Gun Culture, they appear to worship gun ownership to the extent that a Person under the age of Twenty One are not allowed into a Casino in Las Vegas ( Or even standby a Slot Machine) or buy a can of beer, but they can buy a semi automatic gun ( The NRA are a bunch of Fruit cakes)

This post is about USA. I am not surprised you are going off topic AGAIN cus it is your MO..
The Constitution of the United States established America's national government and fundamental laws, and guaranteed certain basic rights for its citizens. It was signed on September 17, 1787, by delegates to the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia.
This USA.

As you state the Constitution was signed in 1787, people only had Single Shot Muskets at the time, time the Constitution was up dated to modern weaponry that can be purchased freely from Supermarkets. ( The US is rather backward thinking with this problem)

Annual per capita risk of gun death during a home invasion ( in USA) is 0.0000002, for all intents and purposes is zero.

DGU (Defensive Gun Use) deaths is less than 3,000 per year.

but there are more than 30.000 intentional gun deaths and many injuries per year.
