And bear in mind speakers are one branch of tech that do actually improve over a certain amount of hours, due to moving parts.
I didn't know that (improvement over time) but I've now had a chance to test them out on music from house to grime to classical and streaming from an iPhone, Mac and Amazon Echo Dot and they have handled everything very well. And they look brilliant as well!
I'd be interested to hear how you get on with the DAB radio.
I'll keep you updated, the R1 should be here Thursday or Friday. As I've said I was thinking about the R2, but £420 just to get stereo speakers and to sit on my bedside cabinet is overkill for me. And besides most dab radios that have stereo speakers usually have the speakers set too close together which will largely negate the stereo sound anyway. The R1 is suppose to have cracking sound out of a mono speaker.
I've owned quite a few things from the more obscure specialist makes but never owned any Ruark stuff so it should be fun.
Yeah speakers do have a break-in period it varies quite wildly due to the size of the speakers etc Sometimes the instruction manual even mentions it. But essentially the speaker driver will be a bit stiff at first, after some hours of use the bass performance improving slightly is usually the thing people notice the most.
