I'd rather have a free bottle in front of me than a prefrontal lobotomy.
The big print giveth and the small print taketh away.
Don't you know there ain't no devil, it's just god when he's drunk.

isn't there a thread for quotes already?

I am not immortal.
Whatever I put off for later
May never be.
Whoever doesn’t know now
That I love them
May never know.
I have killed time.
I have squandered it.
I have lost days…weeks…
As a man of unlimited wealth
Might drop coins on the street
And never look back.
I know now, that there will be an end,
A limit.
But there is time
Valuable and precious time
To walk,
talk,
breathe.
Time to touch,
taste,
care.
To warm the child
Who is cold and lonely.
There is time to love
I promise myself…
I will.
I am
I am ready
I am ready to give
I am ready to give and to receive
I am ready to give and to receive love

God I was disappointed. I love Barclay but this book just frustrated me.

I love Linwood Barclay. havent read his stuff in a while though.I would recommend the promise Falls trilogy.takes place near where I grew up in western new york state.

Very good reading.

Oh I loved the Promise Falls books. He’s my fave author I think. Bar that last book.

I’ve just bought Kate Mosse’s latest, The Burning Chambers. I like her a lot too so I’m looking forward to starting it now I have more time.

There’s a half read book on my bedside that I should finish too. I was really enjoying it and can’t remember why I stopped reading. Now I know it’s gunna be a ballache picking it up again after so long.

I'm reading Transcription by Kate Atkinson

it takes you there, but not in an over-wordy way

The last two I bought from WH Smith were 'How to stop time' by Matt Haig, and 'The marriage pact' by Michelle Richmond.
I went on instinct that they would be good reads and they were.
