Last year I sat in a Vulcan bomber (XJ823) and shown round the instruments etc by a former pilot, Starbold - it was astonishingly cramped and uncomfortable but fascinating nevertheless. A beautiful aircraft in flight.

I know that a VTOL Vulcan was proposed but I don't think they built one. :dunno:

And it so nearly went wrong, the pilots were required to make wills before take-off due to the unreliability of the aircraft in their latter years.

Our deterrent is submarine based now and purely a second strike capability that has to be confirmed by the Septics, If they all get blown up then we can't launch a thing.
