u need to restart to install updates
shut down just postpones it
sacrifice for the quick shut start I guess..

I've got a CM security update for my phone, download it from the screen and install it from the bootloader. Not difficult but boring

The iOS 10 takes a bit of getting used to though. My son said it has emojis that corrupt other people's phones when you send them, but that's probably just an Instagram conspiracy.
