No London Fire Thread?

So sad.
No help whatsoever for the people left in the street.
No Red Cross no police no army no council no social services no nothing.
Inexperienced volunteers managed to get things going.
If trouble and disaster hits where you live .... expect nothing.

Four ministers were warned about tower block fire risks

Four separate government ministers were warned that fire regulations were not keeping people safe, in letters that have subsequently been seen by the BBC.

In the leaked letters, experts warn that those living in tower blocks like Grenfell Tower were "at risk".

At least 79 people are dead or missing presumed dead after the fire at the London high-rise last week.

The department that received the letters said work to improve regulation and safety had already been under way.

I'd be more concerned at the prospect of a PM who spends their time indulging in publicity stunts rather than, y'know, getting on with all aspects of the job.

Course, when you're just a fucking thick cunt who indulges in demagoguery, I'm sure that's an easy concept to miss.

So were press invited to the PM's publicity stunt?

Yep.

PM attends a reception of movers and shakers - shocker! No chance whatsoever that her "schmoozing" could be motivated by trying to find solutions to adequately assist and recompense all those affected by Grenfell as quickly as possible.

I think some folks would only be satisfied if they see her bunking down on a communal mattress in Westfield Sports Centre.

Highly unlikely - is the Treasury out of money?

You are aware that the survivors of Grenwell was woefully let down in terms of support and help from the authorities? that part of the anger from them is how they were essentially ignored by those entrusted with taking charge in these operations?

Maybe had Theresa May made more of an effort to go down there and actually, y'know, act like a leader she may have seen first hand the shambolic state of affairs and could have used some of her power as the Prime Minister to order government bodies to get their fingers out their arses.

But these people werent 'movers or shakers' (to borrow Vam's phrase) so their concerns were not priority to May. Had the tower block housed a lot of rich & influential people she would still be there on the ground personally hand-feeding every survivor.

So, when the PM doesn't appear in front of the cameras she's accused of "hiding" and when she does appear in front of the cameras she's accused of seeking publicity?

Simple fact is that there are a whole shit-pile of people who should be responsible for sorting out any problems caused by the Grenfell Tower fire.

It's fucking retarded to criticise the PM for spending time doing stuff other than micro-managing a single situation.

What's more, it absolutely reeks of desperate, petty mud-slinging.
