The economy in the US is rolling along pretty well, but that's down more to the government being mostly deadlocked.

Ain't that the truth. A hard lesson his predecessor had to learn.
So when do you think it will finally dawn on him to stop trying to run the country as though he's autonomously and unaccountably in charge of a nepotistic Fortune 500 company, and that the White House isn't his corporate HQ?

Probably never. I don't see him changing. Now a president does have a great deal of control on the machine known as the federal government. They can use their business sense to make that more efficient. Doing so however won't get you much coverage in the news or support from the citizens. It's not splashy and a pretty boring topic to be honest.
One of the biggest problems we have is a clueless population that expects the president to be always fundamentally trying to change something, instead of just steering the ship based on the direction of the wind.

Not bad for someone supposedly not accomplishing much.

This numbers surprise me. Are they for what we call "dreamers" which are children brought here, not adults who sneak in?
