How's he doing? "Like the world has never seen before" - that's how he's doing.

I think Guesty has it summed up, though - "bigly" :gigglesnshit: Just to add -

Neo Nazis: fine people
Presidential & unifying influence: :haha:

It's like one long, multi-season, drama boxset. I'm always playing catch-up on the US cable news channels, and/or checking out the latest in the NYT and the WP, for the latest train wreck episode.

He's got virtually nothing done with the exception of a Supreme Court appointment. Looks like part of his travel ban will stick. Hes learning the same thing all presidents do. Congress can stop you dead in your tracks.

The economy in the US is rolling along pretty well, but that's down more to the government being mostly deadlocked.

Not too well as I understand. He keeps creating stupid headlines to cover up the news from the Mueller investigation, his base are rocking Fox but you can't take the risk of something getting out to them, better safe than sorry.

Mueller is getting more and more of a threat to the Dotard what with Jr ditching SS protection during the mysterious visit by Russian Oligarch Oleg Deripaska and #45 deleting Tweets that supported Luther Strange (looser!) after he lost the Alabama primary. The actions of a high school princess who didn't make homecoming queen.

The investigation is taking time because justice requires accountability and in a case involving a serving president there can be no mistakes.

Wow. Love the cut of your jib.
A great, pithy summary of the tangoe'd one's achievements.

May I add a few more turkeys to that list, guesty? :cuppaT:
His election promises about removing troops from Afghanistan turned to dust. I doubt if he even managed to reduce the numbers, let alone remove them all.
Eradicating ISIS wasn't the doddle he thought it would be either. He heavily criticised the former POTUS , thinking he'd just snap his fingers and make things happen when he came to power in january.
On both counts he himself admitted it wasn't as easy as he thought it might be.
As for repatriating the Dreamers?? Oh dear. What a mess that was. The political fallouts with his own republican people over that, weren't pretty.

It's easy to promise the earth when you're on an election campaign. Words are cheap
Not quite so easy once you get in the hot seat, is it now, Trumpee?

Ain't that the truth. A hard lesson his predecessor had to learn.

So when do you think it will finally dawn on him to stop trying to run the country as though he's autonomously and unaccountably in charge of a nepotistic Fortune 500 company, and that the White House isn't his corporate HQ?

Probably never. I don't see him changing. Now a president does have a great deal of control on the machine known as the federal government. They can use their business sense to make that more efficient. Doing so however won't get you much coverage in the news or support from the citizens. It's not splashy and a pretty boring topic to be honest.

One of the biggest problems we have is a clueless population that expects the president to be always fundamentally trying to change something, instead of just steering the ship based on the direction of the wind.

The wind that drives the mighty ship of state is supplied by people behind the curtain.
That's why even though he promised similar stuff to Obama re foreign interventions he doesn't have that power.
The endless war is what fourteen years old and no president will ever have the power of intervention over such matters so nothing much ever changes.
America is the two party one ideology state.

3.1% GDP for the last quarter...
Not bad for someone supposedly not accomplishing much.

Best number since 2015... so Obama achieved the same thing.

Of course both were benefiting from a strengthening GLOBAL economic situation.

Trump's anti-immigrant bullshit is actually making Americans more in favour of giving illegal immigrants legal status

Maybe Trump is a secret under-cover leftie :dunno:

It's possible. He has supported single payer in the past.

This numbers surprise me. Are they for what we call "dreamers" which are children brought here, not adults who sneak in?

Even if it is just dreamers then the repeal of DACA was a massive own-goal unless they fast track a 'legalise them all' bill before the deportations happen.
