Couldn't begin to understand the majority of the scientific context in the article - but what I (hopefully) do understand, is that it appears that Megalodon grew to its massive size, because it targeted large prey, such as whales, giant turtles, etc?

All I know is, that if ever there was a film made about the Megalodon - you would definitely "need a bigger boat"!

They are making a film based on Steve Alten's Meg series of novels only read the first one I hope the film is better.

It stars Jason Statham who as far as action stars go is pretty good, also has Robert Taylor who has been excellent in Longmire. :smilin:

People who rescue animals like that (especially huge and potentially lethal carnivores) always have my utmost respect Charlie. :thumbsup:

For the record Kodiak and Alaskan bears are not the largest land carnivores in the world - that honour goes to the Polar bear - unfortunately due to anthropogenic climate change the bears have been slowly shrinking over the last few decades, we may never see the likes of the record male -1,002 kg - that was (unfortunately) shot in northwestern Alaska in 1960, ever again. :shake head:
