GAME OF THRONES - LATEST SEASON

GAME OF THRONES - LATEST SEASON

Postby Trapper John » Fri Aug 18, 2017 10:56 am

I've said more than once how much I love this show, and every season is a good as any other. I just can't get enough of it but purposely won't read the books.

Anyway, after watching the lastest episode, I've realised I've made a cock-up with some of the characters which had me confused for a moment there.

In fairness to myself, I was a bit of a late comer to the show, cramming the first two seasons into two long but enjoyable nights, some years back.

Now I must have missed something or more likely got confused but I thought the boy, who is Brianne of Tarth's page, was the bastard son of Robert Baratheon.

After watching the latest episode though, it appears that boy has been clanging away in the blacksmiths of Kings Landing all along and the page is someone completely different. In fairness again, they do look similar when seen episodes apart, well I think they do anyway.

So now I've got my bearings right on Robert's bastard, who is the page of Brianne of Tarth? ...... is he just a random yet enduring character, or is there something special or important about him I should know? :dunno:

Cheers thats pretty much all come back to me now.

I wish you hadn't told me about the leaked episode, now I'm gonna have that on my mind 'Do I watch an inferior copy on net or do I wait to suck in all of the glory of the high quality big screen version?'

decisions, decisions. :again?:

I got a while to have a think, thing is if I watch it now, there's even longer to wait for the next.

I remember watching the first four episodes of one of the past series, when someone uploaded them before they were shown. It was great while it lasted but then I had to wait weeks for the 5th episode, it was like giving up smoking.

I'll let you know if I succumb :gigglesnshit:

Well I succumbed, late Friday night.

I found a fantastic copy in HD without any subbies - I piped it up to my 42 inch and got it full screen with almost perfect definition. I was gobsmacked really with the quality and sound, that was why I gave in. :leer:

Fuck me, what an episode eh? - all the emotions in 1:06 minutes, gutted, elated, sad, laughing, infact everything that makes GOT the best series I've ever watched.

If I was being picky, there were a few questionable bits but you can disregard them for the sake of a great show. Like:

Spoiler: show
If they wanted to capture a dead soldier for evidence, why didn't they wait until one of the blokes killed by the bear, turned into an undead, instead of risking what they did? - plus messages and people seem to get around Westreos pretty damn quick when they have to.

But I'm not complaining

Yeah and I feel a bit cheated too. 7 episodes and you're right in the midst of things, you shouldn't expect it to end there. Gutted next is only 6 we'll hardly be warmed up.

Do you reckon they've split what should have been a 13 part season when originally initiated?

Another big fan of GoT. Season 5&6 were a bit slow and not as good as the rest, but season 7 was brilliant. The last season should be amazing, there’s so much to pack into 6 episodes (longer running time, granted) that it should be a thrill a minute...
