Weighted blankets for anxiety &/or autism

Postby Nucks » Mon Oct 30, 2017 9:24 pm

A family member has expressed a desire for one of these. Have any of you heard of them or purchased one? They’re a bit pricey so I’ll be looking at a lot of reviews before committing to buying one.

The shipping costs are off the wall :gigglesnshit: , although I suspect any heavy item will be costly to post.

Look up weighted blankets on google or ebay for whatever the area you live in, I am sure you will find local folks who make them to order much cheaper.

Not sure where you live but this one I found not a million miles from me

Also lookinkg for a small downs syndrome child who may be on the spectrum too :smilin: http://www.astitchdifferent.co.uk/

Hi Canucklehead, just wanted to add to what Bella has already said, .. there is also a facebook page of a person that makes them to order
https://www.facebook.com/LeannesWeightedBlankets/
and her website http://www.leannesweightedblankets.co.uk/

Also, i don't know how crafty you are but there are youtube vids on how to make your own, which would probably be a lot cheaper.
If you buy or make a size or so larger than you need then it will last longer, i know they are hugely beneficial to people with Autism.

Best of luck x
