Do you ever imagine yourself being old?

A right load of bollocks...

Do you ever imagine yourself being old?

Postby Guest » Sun Nov 12, 2017 3:16 pm

Do you ever catch yourself imagining that you're old and looking back into the good old days where you could do things with youth and energy and health on your side?

It could be simple like running up the stairs. And thinking these are the old days and I'm living them now? I do it quite a lot not on purpose but catch myself doing it and feeling very grateful for health etc.

If you don't already do it. Try it.

I’ve actually felt older over the past couple of years, if that’s what you mean. Any sort of prolonged physical activity and I ache like fuck the next day. Hangovers take about a week to clear up now as well, the cunts...

No. It's more like like being a living memory or living in the memory.

Heck I don't know what I'm on about now!

It'll only waste energy... just wait until you are actually old, no need to imagine then. If you're lucky enough to make old age..

When and if I'm old I'll most likely remember me running up the stairs as an old person, enjoying it whilst I was young. And knowing what that feels like.

Whilst you who ran up the stairs and took it for granted all your life won't.

That kind of thing is true. We take so much for granted when it comes very easy to us.

Growing old is strange.
Time becomes distorted.
I've figured out why and it's the same reason old people are forever looking back.
Forward looking becomes more and more meaningless.
The future is ever diminishing while the past is ever expanding.
So the balance has gone.
Huge past tiny future.
Dementia is becoming something of an epidemic in the western world.
Used to be rare now it's almost expected.
Strange thing though .... people who have smoked weed for years tend to be protected from it.
There's science to back it too.
Anecdotal evidence says daily consumption of cocnut oil can also protect you and even start to repair the damage to the brain.
Scientists all over the world are looking at it now.
There are hundreds of villages across India others around the world where coconut in all it's forms are consumed daily and there's no dementia.
None in my family history.
I would hate to end my days not knowing who I was where I was who other people are and taking a dump in the corner of the kitchen.
Looking good for me so far though.
The men in my family tend to simply drop dead one morning in their mid seventies so in around a dozen years I'll probably be gone.

Keyser stop with the video nasties!

I felt older 5 years ago than I do today. Over stretched in every aspect of my life.
So I changed things around and feel healthier for it.
It's the obvious solutions that work, healthy eating and moderation in all things. And Yoga.

My old age/retirement is nothing like OH and I had planned, OH is suffering from a debilitating terminal disease, and I am his sole carer. I have never worked harder in my life.
