Marty the horse who collapsed yesterday in London during a parade, has made a full recovery and is recuperating at his stables and munching on carrots.

Scotland is celebrating the pitter patter of little paws after Victoria the Polar Bear gave birth to the UK'S first baby polar bear for 25 years.

The wee Scottish Polar Bear was born just before Christmas.

beautiful little pup but a typical misleading daily mail headline. he wasn't dumped, he was surrendered due to a change in his owner's circumstances. he will soon get another home.

this type of headline, especially that wanky appeal asking anyone who knows the person to contact the paper, will put people off doing the responsible thing & surrendering an animal to a place like battersea, they could easily just kill the dog or actually set it loose & leave it instead.

Part 3. Hmm this thread has evolved somewhat  and now any post about any animal is regarded as being on topic ........ but going back to the original theme, here is a real on-topic post, sadly. A trophy hunter incensed social media commentators with his actions and the usual smug smile.

Image

''A Canadian television host has come under fire after sharing multiple photos to Facebook on Dec. 3 of a mountain lion he killed during a hunting trip in northern Alberta, Canada. The picture has reeled in more than 2,100 likes, 940 comments and 2,200 shares since its arrival online. Steve Ecklund, mostly known for co-hosting "The Edge Abroad," took a hunting trip with friends in northern Alberta where they hunted a mountain lion. Ecklund shared a series of pictures from his trip, with one showing him grinning as he's holding up the animal's carcass. He also posed for pictures with friends kneeling behind the dead animal as they held up two beagles. Ecklund regularly shares photos of himself and his wife, Alison Ecklund, pictured in hunting gear or with hunted animals. This seemingly graphic picture managed to cause a stir among social media users, however.''

Always fascinating how animals can pack so many fetuses into their insides.
My infant weighed only 6 and a half pounds at birth .......and yet I felt quite heavy during those last few weeks! :yikes:

Experts are keeping a close eye on Victoria's wee cub, because the first three months can be perilous for cubs born in the wild and in captivity.

No photos of the first polar bear born in the UK for twenty-five years are available, because photographers can't get close to the enclosure incase they scare the cub.

Scottish wildlife chiefs only knew Victoria had given birth after they heard they wee yins cries.

Hiya Vicks. Yes I know about the human octomom, in fact I mentioned her on here about 5 or 6 years ago. Bet she looked fit to burst by the time she gave birth. And uteruses have been known to split open (it's known as dehiscence!! ) - rare of course but it happens. I feel queasy now.

I mentioned about the human octomom in my marathon thread about Kate's pregnancy 5 or 6 years ago(??). I get so excited about babies - I am the only person who can make a thread about babies last for nearly 50 pages!!! .... :yikes: I can't wait for grandkids!! :pmsl:

I'll go and see if I can find the thread. :Hiya:
