I watched Once Upon A Time in the West the other day, and swooned at Henry Fonda as usual. I remember when I forced my kids to sit down and watch it, they nearly gave up in the first few minutes because nobody said anything for so long, then a wee while they were hooked. It took them a while to notice each character has their own tune.

It's good they stuck with it. Mine won't go near them, they find them odd, maybe when they're older they'll get it.
My older siblings got me onto the spaghetti westerns, I think they came on Monday nights at 9pm at one point. There was nothing like it on tv at the time. The music takes me back to those exciting evenings.

It was my Mum and Dad that made me watch them. Happy days.

The music from them are sampled quite a bit, I think the tune at the start of Once Upon A Time in the West is used in Little Fluffy Clouds, and a Fatboy Slim song.

My favourite Western ever, possibly my favourite scene and the music is simply sublime.

Lee Van Cleef and the great Gian Maria Volontè simply blew Eastwood off the screen in this one (good as he was).

People have their own opinions on what was the best track Delores as lead vocalist performed to - but to me it has to be 'Linger'.

Such a haunting, beautiful song...
