Shoogle = Shake
Shoogle the Wireless. I wonder of old Scottish ladies say this. It sounds good. :mrgreen:

Here's one JP.

Loupin..

My arm is loupin because I got my flu jag yesterday.

Is 'jag' a Scottish word Vicky?...... we say 'jab'! :smilin:

It is Poca.

Partick Thistle are nicknamed the Jags, because Thistle's are Jaggy.

I always loved the word stramash in football terms, 6 guys on each side 6 yards from goal, 6 trying to score by any means possible and 6 trying to stop the ball by blocks, tackles etc.

Players of Dundee FC must wonder how on earth the ball stayed out of the net during the Scottish Cup fifth round tie against Greenock Morton. :header:

Gob = Spit

Gobbin = Spitting

Nipper = A cigarette that's been half smoked.

You smoke half of it and "Nip it" to smoke the rest of it later.

Hence a "Nipper"

"A piece at any door"

Of course "Piece" means sandwich in Scotland.

It's an expression used to describe someone who is so affable, that nobody would ever be able to refuse them something.

It's frequently used to describe my brother.

Not me though.
