THE TORY WINDRUSH COVER-UP UNDER WAY.

THE TORY WINDRUSH COVER-UP UNDER WAY.

Postby Cannydc » Wed May 02, 2018 7:38 pm

The Conservatives have blocked attempts to force the government to release internal documents relating to the Windrush scandal.

The House of Commons voted down the proposal after the Tories ordered their MPs to oppose it.

Labour had tried to use an archaic parliamentary procedure to force the government to hand over the files, which they said would reveal how much ministers knew about the problems facing Windrush generation immigrants.

After a lengthy debate, MPs rejected the motion by 316 votes to 221, giving the government a majority of 94.

Labour accused the government of attempting to cover up the role of senior ministers, including Theresa May, in the Windrush scandal.

You can run, Treeza - but you can't hide.

Leaks are sure to follow.

Couldn't agree more.

Saving political skins trumps honesty and openness every single time.

It's an admission of guilt anway so that'll have to do I suppose.

IF May was a woman of principle she would have gone when the Border Agency fiasco, which under her watch let in about 870,000 with no passport checks. She denied this happened when journalists were walking through without any checks...

Since the 1960's when they handed him the Daily Herald, they are not to be trusted.

Labour didn't sell the Herald to Murdoch. You aren't too keen on the truth.

What piffle.

The Daily Herald was owned by The International Publishing Corporation, who bought a controlling share in 1961. It underwent several changes of management before ceasing publication in 1964, when it was relaunched as The Sun, in its pre-Murdoch form.

By 1969 the original Sun had fewer readers than the Herald at the end of its existence. The newspaper was then sold by IPC to Rupert Murdoch's News Limited.

I can find no record of Labour owning the Herald or giving it to Murdoch. It was bought on the open market.

Labour were in power when Murdoch bought it, they didn't prevent the sale. They can't be trusted.

If she had nothing to hide she'd welcome the release of all documents but hiding it away proves her complicity.
