Not sure if anyone has posted this but here is the full list of MP's who voted yesterday. Shame Javid fell at his first hurdle and chose to obey his boss.

The Home Office’s dirty secret: a whole new generation of Windrushers

Sajid Javid, has wasted no time in disowning the phrase “hostile environment”. But the real test he faces isn’t one of superficial terminology. First, there is the question of whether he will do anything to dismantle the day-to-day reality of prejudice that ensnared the Windrush generation with such appalling consequences; whether he will concede that obliging landlords to check people’s papers under the threat of fines or imprisonment drags us backwards to a world where people with dark skin routinely face discrimination.

But there’s another dirty secret buried in the Home Office. The government’s futile, arbitrary target to reduce net immigration to the tens of thousands means it is not just imposing further restrictions on who can come to the UK from abroad (no matter that the NHS is desperate for doctors). It is making it harder for people here legally, including those who’ve grown up here, to become permanently settled.

I find it very disturbing that the first thing the new home secretary does is vote to stop us the people having access to the information we so strongly deserve.
This is information that should be in the public domain.

The Tories ordered an extra 180 shredders last week for the Home Office :shake head:

When the Tories were passing surveillance laws allowing them to check our emails and telephone calls they said, only criminals etc would have something to hide.

Why won't they disclose the Windrush documents? After all only criminals, terrorists etc have something to hide...

They are still regarded as illegal immigrants by swathes of Tories - a position only strengthened by Treeza conflating Windrush people with illegal immigrants every time she opens her mouth.

Thats completely untrue. Every Tory MP or spokesperson Ive seen on TV has made it VERY clear that the Windrush people are here legally but its the ILLEGAL people unconnected to Windrush that need to be dealt with.

I suggest otherwise.

Treeza used the excuse that "the people of Britain wanted tough action against illegal immigrants" on DOZENS OF OCCASIONS when referring to both her's and Ambuh's handling of the Windrush scandal, including brazen references at PMQs. It was very late in the game that she slightly changed her tune, sensing that 'the people' were not in favour.

This was quickly picked up by a bunch of sycophantic Tory 'spokesmen' who originally conveniently conflated the two regularly on TV and radio.

They all used their policies as an excuse for their awful failings, never once admitting that those self-same policies were the very cause of the scandal.

And I note that you haven't denied that they are still regarded as illegal immigrants by swathes of Tories - because they are, and always were.

Inside many Tories is a small voice whispering "Enoch was right".... Remember, the GO HOME vans were signed off by Treeza...

Maybe you didn't see the horrendous interview on C4 news with Chuka Umunna and Sir Roger Gale last week? Guru-Murthy was specifically asking questions on Windrush yet Gale persistently conflated illegal immigration into the interview.

Wrong.

Do you get anything right? May I ask which illegal people connected to Windrush and how are they connected?
