Sorry to hear that Aaron. I'm from South Lanarkshire and I honestly never heard it used as a slur. I have heard all the "poof" etc things but to me as a child in the seventies it meant best pal.


Oh I've had every insult but like a typical Scot I learnt how to own them and turn them on the attacker, there's no better game than to see idiots squirm, and as I am gaining in years I rarely here it now, when I was growing up in the seventies/eighties it wasn't like it is now. :smilin:


I know. It was awful then for gay people. Now it's a whole different ball game - thankfully. My own sons just think we were weird back then!
