Mine's DOES tend to notice everything - unfortunately for me - even new earrings ffs! Though I use his bad hearing and say - "I told you, but as usual, you weren't listening"! Works!
My dad notices bugger all.
In saying that, it took me about six months to notice my brother had grown a beard.
It took my dad 6 months to notice I'D grown a beard!

That way it gets to decompose and the insects get to have their fill.
