Didn't really expect Liverpool to win but that was a shit way to lose.

Couldn't help but be in awe of Bale's first goal mind.

I actually am very torn.

Any other English team and I would be with them all the way but the gleeful boasting for years about how Liverpool is the greatest city on earth if they win will be very hard to take.

Ditto with those sentiments.
Apart from ManU I'd support any premiership team playing in the CL, except Man City- our arch rivals, or Liverpool our other main foes. They'd crow about it too much if they won, their hatred for ManU is intense. At a human level I still always feel for the individual unlucky player(s) whose error allowed a goal, whoever they are. That's quite a burden to carry.
Hope the 'pool keeper does not beat himself up too much over this. After all, if you think about it, most goals are due to error to a greater or lesser degree. Genuinely 'unstoppable' goals are rarer imo.


(ETA Welcoming Fulham to the EPL. They got down to ten men- that sometimes brings out the best in the remaining players. Some managers say it's trickier to play against ten than a full house.)

It's not the actual teams I have anything against, it's the media and the way they go on and on and on.

The Scottish teams in this competitions, need to try and make a better account of themselves.

Celtic, Rangers, Aberdeen and Hibs.

Of course none of them will win their respective tournaments but we (As in Scottish people) have to hope, they get as far as possible in them.

As spectacular as Bale's goals looked they were both 'savable' without too much effort. The Benzema goal speaks for itself.

I was thinking earlier about football fans who support two teams..

I was friends with a Polish chap who supported Rangers and Chelsea and he was asked, who he would support it they played each other and of course he had no answer.


I unfriended him a while back, he was trying too hard to be this ultra Rangers supporter and I got bored with it.

Fenians this, fenians that.

He reminded me of that Abdul, most Rangers fans hate his guts as well.
