You'll always get scumbags who exploit every situation. The worst ones in this case are the people who made the decision on the cladding and the people who treated the residents as if they were nothing.

The ones who flouted fire safety precautions in the building also have responsibility to bear.

Nice try though.

I didnt say it did. Go and start your own thread.
this thread is about scumbags who pretend they were involved in a terrible fire and get help to the tune of £125,000 plus other assistance. you have got to be a real sicko to see people burned to death and then say “hey, we could pretend we lived there and see what WE can get out of this tragedy.”
They had also been in this country illegally for years and should be deported in my opinion.

The ones who flouted fire safety precautions. Blocking corridors, leaving fire doors ajar, using non PAT tested appliances etc. Sub-letting (illegally) so knowing how many were in the building to be rescued was difficult. They have their burden of responsibility do they not?

No-one flouted the fire regulations.
The cladding used was certified according to the European fire resistance standard.

A really stupid comment.
ALL claddings are certified according to the European fire resistance standard. They are given a rating, A to F, A being the top rating. Reynobond PE had a certificate based on a rating of B.
Some in the construction industry regarded this to be the required standard for use on buildings over 18m in height, though the government says this was wrong and it should have been A rated.
And it should.
