I wondered why Google had overheated....

But the egg has to stay on your face, I fear.

The nearest contract to zero hours allowed in Portugal is known as an Intermittent Contract.

However, their employment law states - the employee must be employed full-time for at least six months each year, with four months of consecutive employment.

Perhaps the guarantee of 4 months consecutive employment could law in the UK for zero hours contracts ?

Don't hold your breath - and don't try to pretend their Intermittent contract is anything like our zero hours contract. It isn't.
