Absolutely spot on.
If you drew it to scale kids wouldn't be able to make head nor tail of it.
It's like trying to draw an atom accurately - there's the proton&neutron core, then you get the electron(s) rotating miles above it, with a LOT of fresh air in between.
The accurate colours would be duller too, not these vibrant rainbow hues.
If trying to educate small kids about astronomy with posters, reel them in with colourful, informative pics & gifs.
Sacrifice accuracy for aesthetics.
You can worry about the scale later on, once they've understood the basics.
