Yes but that wouldn't even fit on the wall would it?

Absolutely spot on.
If you drew it to scale kids wouldn't be able to make head nor tail of it.

It's like trying to draw an atom accurately - there's the proton&neutron core, then you get the electron(s) rotating miles above it, with a LOT of fresh air in between. :pmsl:
The accurate colours would be duller too, not these vibrant rainbow hues.

If trying to educate small kids about astronomy with posters, reel them in with colourful, informative pics & gifs.
Sacrifice accuracy for aesthetics.
You can worry about the scale later on, once they've understood the basics.

A 4.2 metres Architeuthis washed ashore near Wellington, New Zealand yesterday.

As Roper has examined a mature adult female of 14 metres and O' Shea one of 13 metres long in the past this youngster still had a lot of growing to do.

Ferry nuff luv. Young un liked big bright posters when he was a kid and he'd defo have liked a poster version of that pic.
Btw no need to actually click on the articles, . . . . just hovering your cursor over them is enough to fetch up more info. Nice!
Great for refreshing your memory for quizzes etc.

Speaking of aesthetics, daresay this new aircraft could use some work. :ooer:

Nice image of Megalodon (although it slightly underestimates the length).
