The million dollar shredder.

A right load of bollocks...

The million dollar shredder.

Banksy artwork shreds itself after £1m sale at Sotheby's
Is the work of art now worth even more or is it trash?
When I saw this o the news this morning I thought .... genious.
The art world have been thrown into confusion.
This guy hates the art world.
Who is responsible for the damage ... the auction room as it was still in their care?
Will the buyer want his money back or see he has invested in something that has stirred the art world globally like never before?
Is someone even now offering the buyer five million dollars?

I mentioned this in the random thread but you bring up some good points.

This is the first self-destructing artwork which in itself is unique and therefore it has actually ascended from a mere visual expression and is regarded both as itself and its form after destruction, got to be worth a lot more than was originally paid.

This guy hates the art world.

He fucking loves the money though, D.Hirst must be chewing his cheeks out wondering what next to pickle

Did Banksy shred it?

Oh ha, missed that. Excellent story and a brilliant idea. Owning a Banksy just seems wrong.

“This is now part of art history in its shredded state and we’d estimate Banksy has added at a minimum 50% to its value, possibly as high as being worth £2m plus.”

A lesson for us all... :ooer:

I wasn’t talking about the prints, I reckon Banksy would approve of buying things cheaply more than paying ridiculous prices for bragging rights.
Your fake Gucci bag matches your fake Gucci shoes, flaunt it, don’t be ashamed.

It's only chavy if you try to pass it off as an original. I carry a print of Hopper's 'Nighthawks at the Diner' in my wallet because I like to look at it sometimes, I can't see how this diminishes my appreciation of the painting :dunno:

If you have an original and keep it to yourself that’s wrong. They should hang in public places.
