I might do nearer the time if I haven't come up with anything

I often come across babies and toddlers (part of work) and the most popular names the last couple of years are the really old ones. Eliza, Elsie, Mabel, Ava, Eva, Edith, Betsy, Sylvia. You may not like them, of course, but your little one certainly won't be the odd one out with an old-fashioned name. The playground will be full of them. Personally, I love them. Beats Kylie, Jade and Courtnee any day.

Most Kylies are mums themselves now.

True. I even come across the odd Summer-Blue. Imagine that on the job application.

The only reason I haven't done it, is that I felt it might seem a bit intrusive.

But for the record...I've always loved the names...

Ellie
Amy
...or for something a little exotic... Aimée (which means 'beloved')

Elise is on the long list already

I quite like Esme too

Esme...pretty name Sounds a bit...Victorian era? But a name like that would suit someone who would grow up to be very creative/arty, maybe even have her own fashion label?

Elise is such a gorgeous name - a classy name to grow into. And of course, while she's still a baby and then a toddling demolition derby, she'd be known as 'Leesee'

I was quite keen on Iona if I had been having a girl instead of a boy. I knew someone from nursery who called her daughter Isis after the stretch of Thames that runs through Oxford but of course that would not be a name of choice these days.
I quite like Annabelle too

If I'd ever had a daughter, I think I would have chosen either Eleanor or Florence.
