Random Stuff # 25

Postby Nucks » Mon Oct 29, 2018 3:38 pm

Received an email today (a bogus one) telling me I have a refund from HMRC and all I need to do is click on the link and provide credit card details to them. eyebrow

Seems legit :ooer:

:gigglesnshit: Did a quick google search and sure enough it’s a scam. Of course I did think it peculiar that if I’m owed money why would I need to provide a credit card number.

But seriously. Most things can be re-heated within a day or two, but be wary of rice, fish and especially shellfish if they might have passed their re-heat or sell by date.

I only found out a few years ago about rice being potentially dodgy when reheating.

Also, some rice can contain traces of arsenic.

But, it's mainly about toxins and some shellfish toxins especially can be deadly.

Amnesic shellfish poisoning.

Paralytic shellfish poisoning.

https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questi ... poisoning/

And definitely stay away from this.

Fugu/pufferfish.

I'd also recommend not eating raw fish, e.g. Sashimi, unless it has been pickled or frozen for an extended period.

HMRC would normally just credit your bank account and send you a letter (rather than e-mail) to say this has happened.

What is the difference between pufferfish and pooferfish then?

Both. Really, both! :ooer:

I'm so glad not to be living up a mountain any more. I miss the views but, man, that road...! :gigglesnshit:

Brilliant.

That’s what I call having confidence in your own abilities.

Not what I'd call a single road, as the lorries can still pass each other, there is just a lack of road markings.

But, good driving.
