Which countries are comparing Norway and Sweden with in terms of scenery and architecture, as you don't seem particularly impressed with what those countries have to offer?

I can't say architecture features high on my importance scale. Scotland is my favourite country and the one I consider the most beautiful. But the most enjoyable times were had in Russia, Malaysia/Singapore, Mauritius and Africa.

If you want advice though, Raven's your man - been everywhere, knows everyone (including biblically), done everything.

Side point.

What is it with people that say always/everyone regularly when they mean sometimes/most.

Or feel the need to.

Most threads online about holidays just turn into pissing contests.

There are lots of places I don't want to go to anyway, due to issues like civil liberties, political rights, dodgy wildlife and diseases. Forget the scenery and architecture (I can see it on the internet anyway). So, that rules out Africa, the Middle East (other than possibly Israel), large parts of Asia and south America. Other people can go there and tell me what it's like. A lot of these places are out of my comfort zone. Life is stressful enough as it is, so when or if I go on holiday I wan't to completely de-stress as much as possible.

Not in my book. But, it may make me more glad to live where I live. But, I already know that I'm pretty privileged to live in the UK in spite of the ups and downs.
