Lightning strikes can happen anywhere on the power network from time to time taking out electrical grids. You may get shorted cables outside of properties or in the local area. Strong winds may cause power cables to come down. e.g trees falling. Maintenance work on the streets may cause a short circuit.
These are things out of my control, nothing to do with my electrical wiring and may cause a trip switch for example to blow.
