We will get a couple of months of brexit, people will go hungry and people will die. The government will already have secured a return to current conditions within a certain agreed time because any nation is three meals away from revolution and you don't need that on your doorstep.

We will get a couple of months of brexit, people will go hungry and people will die. The government will already have secured a return to current conditions within a certain agreed time because any nation is three meals away from revolution and you don't need that on your doorstep.

Under-fire Seaborne Freight has launched its first sea trials ahead of easing Britain’s transport crisis in the event of a no deal Brexit.

The company, which won a £13.8 million Government contract from Chris Grayling, despite having no ships, ports or even a website, has moved quickly to prove it is ready for business.

The nation’s media was invited to the Port of Ramsgate in Kent today to view the first container being put on Seaborne Freight’s flagship ferry.

At 1pm the shipment left Kent en route to Ostend in Belgium, where it was expect by sometime next week, if the wind is in the right direction.

A tech developer with a successful London e-learning company has said he has already quit Britain after 10 high-flying years because of the uncertainty and “mindless tribalism” caused by Brexit.

Jan, an IT specialist from the former Yugoslavia, has set up a new business in Switzerland where he says the approach could not be more welcoming.

He said the drop in the value of the pound “killed” his business because the cost of paying subcontractors in places such as Romania and India has shot up, destroying his margin.

He also felt unwanted after the referendum and with a heavy heart he and his wife decided they didn’t “want to be trapped on an island that is descending into mindless tribalism” after 10 successful years here.

His story reflects the struggles of many small to medium-sized businesses hit by the collapse of the pound after the referendum and its continuing weakness today.

He says Switzerland’s welcoming approach to business is in stark contrast to the UK’s since the referendum. About 25% of the population are foreign and all new immigrants are invited to a lounge party with the town’s mayor with free food and wine and a free city tour to help them get to know their new home.

“If immigration was the problem, Switzerland would be the poorest country on the planet,” he said. “Accountants tell me I am not the only one who has quit Britain and that they are swamped with small UK businesses setting up shop in Switzerland. The country is not in the EU but it couldn’t be more different than Britain post-2016.

The reality is that nothing has changed in Switzerland. You want to take a business there ? They will welcome you with open arms.

This country is bleeding. Bleeding cash on things that won't happen, like a No Deal Brexit. Bleeding jobs - see all the reports and it's obvious that it isn't Project Fear, companies simply can't wait in limbo forever - and we are bleeding away expertise, with those companies leaving go the top end jobs, the designers, engineers, scientists. So where are the sunny uplands of Brexit?

Theresa May’s chances of delivering Brexit on March 29 are fading fast after senior ministers privately admitted more time is needed even if her deal wins the backing of parliament.

Senior Tories have accepted that the sheer amount of legislation parliament must pass to prepare for Brexit regardless of whether Ms May’s plans are approved, makes a March 29 withdrawal almost impossible.

One cabinet minister told The Independent that in the unlikely event the prime minister’s deal is actually approved on Tuesday then a couple more weeks would still be needed – if as expected it is not, then a longer delay of Brexit looks inevitable if a no-deal scenario is to be avoided.

Let's see how many keyboard warriors hit the streets when that gets announced.
