If the UK only ate the fruit and veg grown in the UK we would effectively run out of food on 1 august each year. Ie we only have enough that would last the timescales of Jan -August

A lot of fruit and veg comes from outside of the EU so it wouldn't be an issue

Maybe those sprouts you had for Christmas dinner were harvested in July and frozen then defrosted for sale at Christmas...

In my small garden we have growing apples pears blackberries blackcurrants raspberries strawberries figs onions carrots swedes tomatoes cabbage lettuce mint fennel basil, chicken eggs and other stuff I've forgotten to mention and it's only a small garden.
Small it may be but there's a coal pile of half a ton and a wood pile of half a ton and a small shed where my wife does God knows what and a fifteen foot polytunnel.
The hair gel covered container and water tank aren't here ....
