Clarkson has always been pro-EU.

Yes i know, just that DC made a pigs ear of the campaign though i imagine if Clarkson had gone on the campaign trail, he'd end up getting drunk and thumping someone!

It always was essentially. Have a referendum as in test the water. Then do whatever we think should happen, not necessarily what the electorate wants. The debate may be over for you, but I can see this going on and on and on.

The electorate wants to remain - with luck their representatives in parliament will reflect that as is their duty.

They didn't at the time of the referendum. Now that we've had 2+ years of brainwashing and propaganda from the remainers, UK parliament and the EU, that most likely has changed. Now neither side is likely to get what they want.

So we burn out, we get shortages, people die, we get martial law, we get a government of national emergency, things get worse, as a nuclear power we are forced to return our deterrent while Russia gloats. Normality and elections are mooted with a strong feeling towards rejoining as full members.

That's as far as I can go because I feel that I will be dead when we get to this bit.

Don't you think you're getting a bit hysterical about all this?

As for our nuclear deterrent. That's more likely to be a NATO issue, rather than an EU issue, if it is an issue at all. I think you've been reading the sensationalist papers too much, as a lot of their 'news' IMO is just pure speculation, rather than hard facts. All this talk of national emergencies, martial law etc. I doubt it.

No-deal Brexit 'to leave shelves empty' warn retailers

Gotta love the irony of the same people castigating socialism for empty shelves in Venezuela while pursing a brexit strategy that will result in the same thing

Yes, I saw Mr Gammon's " “It would do the country good to go without food” statement.

And my immediate thought was - what the fuck gives him the right to impose such conditions on the rest of us ?

While we are at it, the old bat who would have us eating turnips and swede, spuds and onions (they're seasonal so no salad or fresh fruit for you Oct - May) was equally fatuous.

They are from the 'we only had an orange at Christmas, it did us no harm' brigade. But it did, it addled their brains.

Our Farming industry could not supply the population of London with its produce it never has been able to .

Go back to the 50`s and everyone had a veggy patch in their garden, along with chickens , during the war we relied on the Merchant Navy to ship food to this Country.

Is the water and electricity going to go off as well?

What about zombies, any of those?

None of that is going to happen, and when it doesn't you'll all say "we never said that it would".

I'm better at this prediction business than you lot.

And how are they going to do that? The UK owns our nuclear deterrent now, not NATO.

And why? NATO is a completely different organisation from the EU.

There are a number of NATO members that are non-EU members, each no doubt with their own defences. Why would the UK be any different?
