FGM is already illegal
Mutilation of babies whether FGM or circumcision should be subject to the highest code of criminal acts.

He lets everything through that isn't about women or the other people. You can't have too many laws against FGM or other human rights abuses.

You seem to be unhealthily obsessed with circumcision.

I answered that question previously, I am against it as a fashion statement, or for religious reasons, but there are good reasons in certain parts of the world where it still has relevance in prevention of the spread of HIV through unprotected heterosexual sex. And it is a much more serious op for a 12 year old than a baby, which has to be taken into account.

However, your 'source' was completely biased shite.

So biased article or not, is circumcision without consent in babies and infants for whatever reason an issue?

NHS says that there's no medical reason for circumcision.
But if some a-holes concocted a health reason for FGM - you'd support it?
What about if someone came up with a health reason to bring back the cane - would you support it?

No they don't. I know at least 2 people who had that op, both for entirely justified medical reasons as explained by the NHS.

Why are you bringing FGM into this particular part of the thread ? And CANING ? FFS grow up and stick to the point.

This is what the NHS says about circumcision:

"It's rare for circumcision to be recommended for medical reasons in boys.
This is because other less invasive and less risky treatments are usually available."

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/circumcision-in-boys/

Mutilation of babies bodies is wrong
It should be made a criminal offence like FGM.

The issue that I have is with the unnecessary mutilation of babies bodies without their consent.
If adults choose to be mutilated either by tattoos, of FGM, or breast augmentation or circumcision then that's their choice
But don't inflict barbaric customs on defenceless babies.

Maria Gatland

Maria Gatland (born 1948, Dublin, Ireland), is a councillor in the London Borough of Croydon for the Conservative Party, representing the Croham ward. She is also a former Croydon Council cabinet member for education, a post she resigned from after being exposed as a former member of the Irish Republican Army (IRA)
