Food bank use has increased due to universal credit roll-out, admits Amber Rudd

Food bank use has increased due to the universal credit roll-out, Work and Pensions Secretary Amber Rudd has admitted.

Ms Rudd said it was “absolutely clear” there had been issues with roll-out and said people being unable to access money “led to an increase in food bank use”.

Labour MP Sharon Hodgson (Washington and Sunderland West) had asked about the impact of the roll-out during Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) questions in the Commons.

The DWP Secretary said: “We’re committed to a strong safety net where people need it.

Strange - Nelson Mandela - revered and forgiven. Served the people.

Maria Gatland - reviled and unforgiven - forbidden from serving the people.

Any idea what made the difference between them ?

The Conservative Party is hiring an army of paid tweeters to take on Jeremy Corbyn’s supporters on social media, the Telegraph can disclose.

Still parroting the same old Tory smears, Bungle ?

Yawwwwwnnnn.....

You must be so embarrassed seeing what is happening to poor old people like the chap above. And we haven't had a Labour government in the time he was allowed to get that way.

How can you sleep at night, trying to justify that, or thinking up diversions by trying to intimate others for some made up crime.

Shame on the Tory scum, and the mindless, heartless scum that support them. Shame on you.

Why are you bringing FGM into this particular part of the thread ? And CANING ? FFS grow up and stick to the point.

This is what the NHS says about circumcision:

"It's rare for circumcision to be recommended for medical reasons in boys.
This is because other less invasive and less risky treatments are usually available."

https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/circumcision-in-boys/

Mutilation of babies bodies is wrong
It should be made a criminal offence like FGM.

NHS says that there's no medical reason for circumcision

(NHS says) It's rare for circumcision to be recommended for medical reasons in boys

See what you did there ?

And Tom and I agree on this - you have a serious issue here.

The issue that I have is with the unnecessary mutilation of babies bodies without their consent.
If adults choose to be mutilated either by tattoos, of FGM, or breast augmentation or circumcision then that's their choice
But don't inflict barbaric customs on defenceless babies.

The consent issue is all important where circumcision is not required other than in certain medical cases.

No consent = should be illegal.

It's discrimination against men where MGM is legal and FGM isn't.

Degree of harm is not a factor IMO. Both are forms of body mutilation.

Not sure about Maria, but you could say similar about Gerry Adams and Martin McGuiness. I consider all three of those men as terrorists, even if they got others to do their dirty work.

As for Nelson Mandela, well overhyped. It only got international attention because of apartheid, while other African countries with predominantly black led governments were oppressing and exploiting their black populations far worse than apartheid ever did, back in the day and still are now. Take countries like South Sudan and Central African Republic for example. You don't hear much about those two countries in the news. However, make it white racist oppression, then you'll never hear the last of it.

South Sudan

Central African Republic

United Kingdom

Read up about what happened in the Nazi extermination camps. I'm surprised I even need to elaborate on what I said, as for the vast majority of (educated) people, comparing what the Tories are supposedly doing to us and what happened in those evil horror camps is like comparing chalk and cheese. It's out of order frankly and pretty sick.

you said nothing about comparison between nazi extermination camps and tories starving people to death, you said that image is in extremely poor taste.

you didn't say which image was in extremely poor taste, which is why i asked you.

you don't see any similarities in a group of people being starved and inhumanely treated by different regimes? the tories aren't starving you to death, you don't rely on benefits to survive, so there is no "us" in there.

It's obvious the image from Nazi Germany is that of an extermination camp inmate or prisoner of war/concentration camp if you want to be pedantic.

The images as a whole are in extremely poor taste when making comparisons between the Nazis and the Tories.

I said supposedly doing to us (as a population). That doesn't mean doing it to everybody.

Have you ever seen anybody looking like that in the UK? The closest you'd get to that is a hardcore drug addict.
