I'd rather have a free bottle in front of me than a prefrontal lobotomy.
The big print giveth and the small print taketh away.
Don't you know there ain't no devil, it's just god when he's drunk.

isn't there a thread for quotes already?

I am not immortal.
Whatever I put off for later
May never be.
Whoever doesn’t know now
That I love them
May never know.
I have killed time.
I have squandered it.
I have lost days…weeks…
As a man of unlimited wealth
Might drop coins on the street
And never look back.
I know now, that there will be an end,
A limit.
But there is time
Valuable and precious time
To walk,
talk,
breathe.
Time to touch,
taste,
care.
To warm the child
Who is cold and lonely.
There is time to love
I promise myself…
I will.
I am
I am ready
I am ready to give
I am ready to give and to receive
I am ready to give and to receive love

I love Linwood Barclay. havent read his stuff in a while though.I would recommend the promise Falls trilogy.takes place near where I grew up in western new york state.

Very good reading.

Oh I loved the Promise Falls books. He’s my fave author I think. Bar that last book.

I’ve just bought Kate Mosse’s latest, The Burning Chambers. I like her a lot too so I’m looking forward to starting it now I have more time.

There’s a half read book on my bedside that I should finish too. I was really enjoying it and can’t remember why I stopped reading. Now I know it’s gunna be a ballache picking it up again after so long.

The last two I bought from WH Smith were 'How to stop time' by Matt Haig, and 'The marriage pact' by Michelle Richmond.
I went on instinct that they would be good reads and they were.

Has everyone stopped reading?

I've motored through all the Tony Parson's Max Wolfe series so far. An easy read and not bad at all.

Also all the James Oswald Inspector McLean series. Entertaining enough.

Now reading Kate Grenville Secret River Trilogy, I like these a lot.

And my side book is Sapiens A Brief History of Humankind. Good book but needs a little more concentration.

I think I've read all the Jack Reacher stories in the last three years plus other stuff .... have to look on the shelves for names and titles I can't remember now.
Read a lot of books the last four years.

I enjoy the Jack Reacher series. Just bought his latest..PAST TENSE.

Lee Child is a maths genius and he infuses that into his Jack Reacher character

Funny how that works sometimes...One of my fave authors Randy White just wrote a very disorganized unfulfilling piece of drivel his last book...And Joe nesbo--one of my faves---wrote a MacBeth and it just wasnt very good.
