Francis said St Teresa had defended the unborn, sick and abandoned, and had shamed world leaders for the "crimes of poverty they themselves created".

Two apparent cures of sick people after Mother Teresa's death in 1997 have been attributed to her intercession.

It may not be suitable for this thread but it is also well known that the Vatican has covered up sexual abuse, so it is factual and allowed, though I would have written it differently, then again, I'm not Dean. :dunno:

I didn't want to spoil the day itself but...

It is International Women's Day NOT International LADIES Day.

Does this matter? Well not much - but "lady" is something of a demeaning term deriving originally from loaf or bread kneader - and in more modern times, a name for the female bogs.

I don't think I'd want male achievements to be celebrated by International Gents Day...

...even if they were equipped with "glory holes". :ooer:

Yes really. She received millions and millions of pounds in donations to her causes. Yet the conditions in her 'care' were squalid. Proper healthcare, and pain relief were non-existent in most cases,as you were supposed to suffer like Christ on the cross, pain and suffering were 'kisses from God' it didn't apply to her though when she became ill, she had top notch healthcare. She was a hypocritical wee fecker.

Hmm, should be a good read then considering the ‘Saint’ she was portrayed to be!
